Re: Staff Absent

Dear Mr Siew

A staff was reported absent from work without informing his superior from 20 Mar - 27 Mar but on 25 Mar he asked his friend to hand over his Medical cert to his superior at around 10 am for his medical leave from 20 Mar - 22 Mar. As such, he had failed to informed his superior within 48 hours of the commencement of leave.

I am charging him under Sec 15(2) and 60F (2). If I were to hold a DI and terminate him , do yo think I have a strong case ?

The staff have been issued with two warnings and a stern warning for leaving the office without permission and numerous counselling session by telling him that he have to inform his superior in the event that he cannot report for work.

Please advise.

Thank you

It is up to you to build up a strong case if you have the necessary evidence.
