Re: Maternity Leave

My friends is working with the current company for 8 months. She is pregnant after a week she start her job.Now she is taking her maternity leave, her boss refuses to give her salary and advance as the reason she is working less than a year. Is this really legal for the company to refuse paying her salary? If she go to the labour department and make a complaint. will the company be responsible to pay for compensation?

She should personally go to the local Labour Department and make a complaint there and let them look into the matter. Her boss doesn't seem familiar with the Employment Act.
