Dear KL Siew,
My employer has gazette Nuzul Al-Quran is a working day, if the employee did not turn out to work for this day, what are the treatment to that particular employee:-
1) deduct a day ANL
2) deduct a day salary
What is the lawful way to handle this case that not impacted the employer?

If that PH is not one of the company's selected public holidays, you can just treat it as absence without approval. It is up to the company whether to treat it as annual leave or no pay leave. In future, I think it would be better to notify employees company's selected PH in order to avoid confusion. A list of selected public holidays for the year should be exhibited at the office for employees to see.
