Re: Termination and suspension

I would like to know whether an employer can serve you a show cause and suspension notice for viewing documents in public folder? My employer claims that the document viewed is his personal documents but it is placed in a public folder where almost everyone in the office can access. No password was prompted when clicked on the document. The document was viewed thru my PC. All along I have been viewing documents in that same folder for sample letters or documents and my employer is aware of that.

Kindly advise whether the said notice is lawful. Currently suspended from work due to that reason.

The employer does not is obviously for the purpose of holding a domestic inquiry. The employer can do that according to section 14 of the EA.
