Mr.Siew,

My company is planning to reduce staff headcount and downsizing its business due to bad economic conditions.

Please advise for the right procedures if we are going to terminate those probationers.

Of course you can as usual serve them notice of termination based on the terms and conditions in the appointment letter. Pay balance of annual leave. But do bear in mind the employees still have the right to bring the matter up with the Labour Department or the Industrial Relations Department.
