Re: maternity leave

Is there any law stated that if a staff be pregnant after joining the company for less than 3 months, the company has the right not to pay her maternity leave/allowances? Please help.

1. If the employee is covered by the Employment Act (meaning her salary is not more than RM2000), there is no such provision in that Act.

2. If the employee is not covered by the Act, the company's own rules on such a matter may be valid. Anyway, how the company is going to find out when the employee got pregnant?
