Re: RESIGN AFTER TRAINING

Hi,

Recently there are few posts require competent person. Meaning work handle by normal experience local operator last time need to be handle by a competent person which require Diploma level and above with certain background studies.

Last time we didn't face any problem because old operator loyal to company and perform work well. However, currently (gen Y) new staff with higher education level join the company, gain experience and after we send them for training to be competent, they resign after receive certificate. Training cost about RM7,000. We are facing this problem for more than 4 persons.

We cannot simply raise the salary for this kind of person because will affect others. Also, we waste our time by doing in-house training. Furthermore, these Gen Y, if we raise also, they like job-hopping.

Sometimes they resign 24 hours. I did send this matter to JTK and after few steps of letter sent to them, still no money return. If we engage lawyer, the lawyer cost is higher than the money we spent to the worker.

Do you have any other solution ? Any good agreement require ?

Thanking you in advance.

Well, if you are a member of the MEF (Malaysian Employers Federation), you may consult them and get some tips on how to retain employees especially those given training by the company.

You don't send any to JTK. You should personally go to the local JTK, sit down and have a good discussion with the officer there. Face to face talk is much better.
