Re: Rest Day OT Claims

Hi Mr Siew,

I would like to ask for the correct method of computation.

If staff performed OT on Sunday total 10.5hrs and his basic salary is RM2,000.00. Then his OT claims shall be RM2000/26=RM76.90 for 1st 8hrs and RM2000/26/8*2 x 2.5hrs=RM48.10, and the total claims shall be RM125.00. Am I right?

Please advise.

Thank you.

The formula for working OT on rest day is :

(salary/26/8) x 2 x number of hours of OT.

Thank you Mr.Siew.

I think I should correct my question to instead of performed OT on Sunday total 10.5hours, I should be said if staff required to perform work on Sunday and he started from 9am-8.30pm.

Our normal working hour is from 9.00am-6.00pm & lunch from 1.00pm-2.00pm.
So we shall compute as follow:
1st 8hours (from 9am-6pm) -> RM2000/26=RM76.90 (1 day salary)
2.5hrs (from 6pm-8.30pm) -> RM2000/26/8*2 x 2.5hrs=RM48.10
Total: RM125.00

Am I right Mr Siew.

Please kindly advise.
