Re: EPF deduction/entitlement for Bonus and Salary

Dear KL Siew,

Good day. As what i know, basic EPF entitlement (employer's portion) for salary 5,000 and below should be 13%. During the month issuing bonus, the question is "Should bonus sum up with basic salary, and based on the sum up amount to configure the deduction of EPF" or "we should calculate separately?"
1. Normal month
Basic salary = 3,000.00
EPF employer's portion = 390 (13% of 3,000) - salary 5,000 and below entitle 13%
2. The month bonus issuing
Basic salary = 3,000.00
Bonus = 3,000.00
EPF employer's portion = 720 (12% of 6,000.00) or 780 (13% of 6,000.00)?

For info on EPF matters, what you can do is to give call to the EPF office and talk to one the duty officers there.

For sharing,
I talked EPF officer just now. Although bonus + EPF is exceeded 5,000, it's still calculate at 13% (it's based on the basic salary in normal month instead of added up with bonus and result in a deduction to 12% epf contribution).
