Re: Probabation Staff

Just to get clarification that if a probation staff keep coming in not in time during working hours,after three months of probation period,boss still not plan to confirm him as his punctuality. Boss said that once after the three months probation,the staff is deemed to be confirm staff even not given him the confirmation letter. Is it a proper way? As I know that company should issue a extension confirmation letter to the said staff. Kindly advise.

The HR department should give her a pep talk about punctuality or giving warning about it. If there is no improvement, HR can extend the probationary period until the situation improved.

Meaning that from the Employment Act , Employer is obliged to serve the particular employee letter of extension of probation?

The EA has no provision for extension of probation period. It is up to the employer to decide whether a particular employee's probation needs to be extended or not.

Is there any fault if the employer not issue any letter to the said employee but just inform orally?
