Re: Can my employer pro-rate my Medical Leave Entitlement?

Its the first month of the calender year and i was on 1.5days MC, after submitting my medical leave form i was informed by HR that my entitlement for the year is 14 days and that since its only the first month i am only entitled to 1 day and the other 0.5 days will be unpaid.

Just seeking some clarification on what is the right treatment? Is this allowed if not where can i get the info to prove to them otherwise?

Many Thanks

If the employees are covered by the Employment Act, medical leave cannot be prorated. If they are not covered by the Act, it may be up to the employers.
