Can we terminate staff under probation by giving 1 week notice based on letter of offer?
Reason, due to current situation Management have decided to reduce the headcount due to can't afford to bear the high costs.

I don't know whether that is a reasonable proposal. The employee concerned may make a complaint at the Industrial Relations Department for wrongful dismissal. You may give a call to the Industrial Relations Department and have a discuss with one of the officers there and get his advice.
