Re: Resignation with short notice

Hi Mr Siew,

Wanted to check my resign notice is 3 months but new employer would like to buy out for 2 months and I will serve 1 month notice. Is my current employer have the right to reject the buy out? What’s the best way should do in this case.
Thanks.

The proper way for you to do is to first give 3 months written notice and after working for one month then you leave after giving the company 2 months salary as compensation for the 2 months short notice . Your employer will not be able to stop you from leaving.

What about if I already tendered by requesting 2 months short notice. They are now reject to approve this?

I told you to give 3 months notice first, don't have to request for 2 months short notice.

So mean after one month just tell my HR that I will pay for the short notice ?

At the end of the first month notice, give your HR two months salary preferably with a cheque and say goodbye. You don't tell them you will pay, you must pay up.
