Re: Forced to work overtime without pay

My company used to operate on 5 days work.
Recently, the management require us to work on Saturday (half day) and they denied our claim for overtime EVEN THOUGH
it is clearly stated in the staff circular that we are eligible
to claim a certain amount.
But according to the management, only the clerical staff are allowed to claim whereas the supervisory staffs are expected to work for free.
Where can we present our case if the management
is ignoring us?

If an employees's salary is more than RM2000, he is not covered by the Employment Act for overtime and so on. The employees may have to negotiate with the company for a better deal is required to work overtime. Otherwise, the employees have the right not to do overtime work.
