Hi everyone who is in this forum. Would like to get some opinion on the following situation. A staff went on MC followed by pre-approved Annual Leave, then MC again and subsequently went on Emergency Leave with the reason that a family member was hospitalized and he needs to care for this family member. This is since mid June. He has been sending SMS/Whatsapp daily to inform of his absence. The Boss now wants to hold his pay. The company has been trying to call him but he is not answering his phone. However he SMS/Whatsapp daily to the secretary to inform of his EL. What do you think? Should his June salary be paid? The question is..what if he comes back and put in the leave form with relevant supporting documents? Would the company be in trouble then for holding his pay?
