Re: working hours

The company where I work, practicing working hours Mon-Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm (lunch 1hour), 1st & 3rd saturday : 8:30am - 12:30pm as a practice for years. These working hours did not stated in our Offer Letter but only written on the wall outside of the building. Recently the management wanted us to work every saturday from 8:00am - 5:00pm and not consider as OT. Can they do this without our concern?

There can be points for dispute. Since you said the former set of working hours has been a practice going on for years, that could be your normal hours of work. Now, with the change, the working hours are longer than they used to be. Could there be overtime? I think if you are having this point in mind, you better consult the Labour Department and get their views.
