Re: Absent after Sunday

Hi Sir,

I have an employee, production operator who absent on 4/10/2010, but he did came on 3/10/2010, Sunday he worked 8:00am till 8:00pm. He absent without notify the company & consent from employer. How should I compute his wages on Sunday, i.e.3/10/2010? Should we pay him double or consider as normal day instead of Sunday (rest day). Thank you!

If he was required by the company to work from 8 to 8 on Sunday, to be fair to him, I think company should pay him (salary/26) plus 3 hours overtime at (salary/26x8) x 2 x 3 hours. For his absence on 4/10, deduct one day salary.

What about if he is daily wages worker. Daily wages is RM25. Thank you!

If daily wages:

RM25x2 = RM50 (working on rest day)
RM258x2 = RM6.25 per hour OT

Yes, still entitle to rest day rates.
