Re: 24 hrs resignation

I have a staff who worked for me for 10 months already. At first i gave the staff the appointment letter but she refuse to sign but during that period of time i give EPF and treats her as a permanent staff. Now she resign within 24 hours on 25th July 2010 and force me to pay her, her salary for that month. What should i do? Thank you

Don't pay and tell her she can go to the Labour Office to make a complaint if she wants.

hi..thanks for the answer. I forgot to mention that her salary plus fixed allowance is RM1500. What can i do if her family members keep calling me and ask me to pay her the salary.
One more question, what can we do if a staff resign within 24hours the next day after he/she received her/his salary?
Thank you..

Alternatively, you yourself can go to the Labour Office to make a claim against the staff for indemnity in lieu of notice. Go to the Labour Office and make the necessary inquiry about the case.
