Re: Public Holiday Entitlement Clarification

Hi Mr Siew,

Under the EA 1955, Section 60D stated as "employee shall be entitled to a paid holiday at his ordinary rate of pay on ten gazetted public holidays in any one calendar year.

the meaning of ten gazetted public holiday is:
a) 10 public holiday; or
b) 10 days of public holiday?

Please advise! Thanks a lot!

"gazetted holidays" means public holidays provided in the Holidays Act 1951 There are many public holidays stated in that Act (about 13 or 14?) but the employers must chose at least 10 of them for their employees.
