Re: increament and bonus

Is it up to our bosses to decide whether they want to give increament and bonuses to staff? Even if the company is doing better every year. Is the any rules that we can refer to? Didn't get increament for the past two years now, even the company did well last two years, just got a month bonus... is it fair? What will your suggestion be?

There is no rules to say employers must give salary increase. It is entirely at the discretion of the employer to give salary increase or not. In fact, you are quite lucky to work in a profitable company and got a month's bonus. Many got their salary cut because of recent economic downturn. Anyway, when the company is doing fine, employees can always try to negotiate for increment. No harm trying.

Thanks for your advise. But how do we talk to our boss? Do we have to select a person among us to talk to him or individually? How do we start?

As they say, "Unity is strength". Send a "team" to make representation to him.
