Re: Short Notice Resignation

I just received a resignation letter from employee. In the letter the employee told that he only gave 24 hours notice as his superior agreed him to do so.However after confirm with his superior, she did not agree with it.I would like to know if the company can charge short notice pay in lieu to this employee as he should give 1 month notice for company to replace a new staff rather than just 24 hours.Thank you.

HR should be in a better position to find out what had actually happened.
