Re: Resignation via sms

I have a staff who just reported for work three days. She sms to say that she is on MC in the morning. Then, she sms say that she would not be coming for job anymore in the afternoon. We tried to call her and sms, but she just refused to revert.

What action can I take?

Wait for a few days and after that you may make a claim against her at the Labour Office if her salary is not more than RM1500.

Thanks. Her salary is more than RM1500, is a receptionist

Meanwhile, do I need to send her show cause letter on "absence without notice". Or

I just proceed to send her letter asking her to pay for her notice in-lieu as per her employment contract.

Yes, you can demand payment of indemnity in lieu of notice based on the termination clause in the appointment letter you have given her.
