Re: Abuse of Unpaid Leave and Medical Leave
We have a clerical staff who regularly takes unpaid leave and medical leave (after having exhausted her pro-rated annual leave entitlement) to the effect that she comes to work on an average of 4 days per week.
There is doubt on the authenticity of the medical certificates produced to support the medical leave.
Warnings have been given to her to try to improve her attendance record. Recently her attendance record has worsened to 3 days per week for 3 consecutive weeks.
Does this record justify giving her a show cause letter and if she cannot show just cause, calling a domestic enquiry to look into this matter ?
