Does 12 months contract employment without maternity leave entitlement is legal?

If you are covered by the Employment Act (meaning your salary is not more than RM1500), there will be no problem. You will be entitled to maternity benefit if you fulfilled all the conditions. If you are not covered by the EA, you better have the maternity benefit clause included in your 12 months contract. Otherwise you may not be able to enjoy that benefit.
