Re: Pregnant chemist

Im a chemist and 5 months pregnant. My superior is giving reasons eg. future work performance, safety to my unborn baby (because i work with chemicals). My question is , do i have a right to ask for lighter duties as in paperwork or different position within company? Will i be paid with the same salary or lesser ? Can they terminate me for pregnancy reasons ? Is it custom for all pregnant chemists not to work during pregnancy?

That is something you have to discuss with your employer. You are a chemist, you should not know what chemicals are harmful and what are not. You surely know how to take precaution I suppose. If they terminate your service because of your pregnancy, you have the right to complain.
