There is no definition for retirement age in the Employment Act.

1. You may find retirement age in Government service, which was 55 in the past and now I think it is 56.

2. You may find retirement age in some contract of service, collective agreements and so on. Retirement age is not something provided by law, it is up to the companies to define one if they want to. EPF allows withdrawals when members reached 55 and SOCSO says when members have reached 55, only the employers wouldl have to contribute. Your thinking of 55 being the retirement age might have been influenced by these.
