Re: Resignation

HI Mr Siew,

If my boss is currently in oversea, if I wish to tender my resignation, can I send him via email, subsequently the hard copy to his secretary. Ok?

Kind regards,

I don't see why not if you are going to give proper notice of resignation according to the contract of service.

Dear Mr Siew,

i have tendered my resignation on 28/3 and my last day is on 28/4 coz I had offered better pay in different place. at first, my office did not want to acknowledge my resignation letter in proper way but later they cepted without acknowledgement and after that I executed the letter of offer from the new place, my ex bos counter offered me and I informed her that I have signed the said offer letter and it is too late, and that moment she told me that I have 18 annual leaves coz I have worked nearly 3 years for them, and also she have ask to avoid that letter offerfrom the new firm. But after I insist to resign and I dont want her offer, she started to change her story and told me that I have only 15 days and I have used up to the maximum and she going to deduct my salary for six days and she forced me to stay and work for her till this 30/4 to settle. I just argued with her regarding why didnt inform me properly at the beginning of the year that I have only 15 days and not 18 days, and she started to argue with and shouted at me and ask me to pack my bag today and get lost from the office at around 3.50.
Please help and I need your true advise.

It is a shame that it should happen like that with only a couple of days to go. Ask her to pay you whatever due to you and you will go your way. Otherwise, you may complain to the Labour Department.

Dear Mr Siew,

Thanks for your advise. But today she never let me to pack my stufs from office and ask me to leave on the spot and suddenly she tried to show the labour law page from the books, coz she is lawyer. My 2nd boss from this firm ask me to be very patient, but I really cannot stand with the way she (1st boss) talk to me and the way she used the words towards me, She informed me in the office tht she going to hold my salary till next month 6/5/10, later after that, then I must go to that office and claim my balance salary from her after deducting everything that she can. When other stuffs (65 years old ladies working there with cheap salary) can carried forward their annual leaves but she never allows me or another staff (whom also resigning shortly coz couldnt stand the pressure the old ladie and she giving) to caaried forward and she tried best to forfeit our leaves.

I was very patient trying to finish all outstanding works or files which was pending at my end, but there is limit to everything when a human being talks to us as we r also a human being with heart, sometimes can accept sometime dont. N she really humilated and embarassed me infront of every staffs out there in office.

Still worried and now having fever.
