Re: OT Claim

Hi,

May I know if there's any limit (or minimum amt) to the salary of a staff to warrant them to claim for OT ?

There is no minimum amount. When you are required to work overtime, you should get paid for it.

Hi, I read your reply to the question posted by win on overdue OT on 19/11/12, You said...." If your ex-superior is one covered by the Employment Act (meaning her salary is not more than RM2000)",... Does that mean that if the staff salary is above RM2000, under the Employment Act the company can opt not to pay her for OT done? Thank you.

If the company requires an employee to work overtime and does not want to pay just because that employee is not covered by the EA, that employee may refuse to work overtime. Why should he work overtime for free?
