Dear Siew,

if a staff tender during her maternity as per below screnario. She started her maternity on 29 July 2012, and tendered her resignation on 31 August 2012 by giving short notice. By right, he has to serve 1 month notice. For the above, is her 1 month notice will be waived due to she still has balance of 1 month maternity? and is she entitled for the maternity allownce?

She may not be entitled to maternity allowance for the one month notice that coincided with her maternity leave. Confirm it with the local Labour Department to avoid dispute.
