Dear sir,

Is the employment act 1955 cover for those people salary below RM 2,000.00 only. How's about if staff's salary more than RM 2,000.00, can we follow the act 1955?

For the monthly rated employee, is the salary we can calculate as monthly rate of pay/26 instead of 30/31?

Use(salary/ the number of days in the particular month) x number of days including rest days . This will give accurate calculation.

Hi Siew,

Need your explanation here..

My salary is RM2376 so after I count as per your OT calculation for 1.5.. I got RM91.38 per day and RM11.42 per hour but my company claims that because of my pay is more than RM2000, the per day salary should be RM57.69 and per hour should be RM7.21..

FYI.. I am a staff who's within the scope of the Employment Act 1955..
So, what I want to know is... Is the calculation given by my company is correct ??
