I need your advice and reference.

I tendered my resignation on 24 April 2012 and serve for 3 month notice for senior position.

my AL entitlement for 2012

2012 16 days
brought forward 5 days
Taken 9 days
Balance 12 days

I was happily counted my last day of employment after deduct my 12 days of AL, my HR manager told me that my balance of AL is only left 5.3 day because is base on pro rate.

Is it how it suppose to calculate when a person resign without servicing a full whole year.

Please advice.

I think your HR is right. Your leave for 2012 should be prorated to the number of completed months of service.
