Re: Change of working hours

Currently the working hours for one of the branches is from 8.30am to 5.30pm. Due to the staff being frequently late to office, the staff had requested that working hours be changed from 9.00am to 6.00pm. The management agreed. I just want to know whether it is against any act to change working hours. I need to issue a memo soon. Appreciate your advise.

You mean to say the change to 9.00 to 6.00pm affects only one branch and the other branches/head office have different set of working hours? Anyway, whatever it is, I don't think it is against any Act except it will be better to give prior notice about the impending change.

Yes. The effected branch is a retail shop and warehouse, where customers walk in to buy and collect items. The others are sales offices, admin and accounts for support and paperwork process. Thanks for the advise. I have issued the memo on the last day of the month.
