Re: EMERGENCY AND SICK LEAVE

Hi, there is a staff who frequently takes emergency leave. Recently his superior disapprove his leave application for his sister's wedding. He still did not turn up for the 2 days and submit MC for those 2 days. A week after he applied for emergency leave again, which was also rejected. Again he did not turn up and submit MC. What can the company do?
When we gave him a letter of warning on his sales performance, he tore it up. Are employers helpless with employees like that?

That's not good. I think you need to take disciplinary action. Hold a domestic inquiry and decide accordingly.

How shall we go about the domestic inquire? What should be asked and who and how many must be in the panel? When the domestic inquiry is carried out, he needs to be suspended from work, right?

If you don't know, the company may have to consult a outside consultant familiar with labour matters.
