Re: Resignation and Pay in Lieu

Dear KL Siew,

Greetings. I was resigned from my company. Based on terms and conditions it mentions ''After confirmation, the period of notice for normal termination other than termination for misconduct shall be three month's notice in writing by either party or pay in lieu without any specific reason being assigned for the termination''.

In my case, My last working last will be 30 April. On 20 March, I told them that I need to leave early and service day to my company till 30 March and I willing to pay the balance amount to them. But, they rejected me. Anyhow, I still pay back the balance and leave early even though they not allow.

Am I right to do so based on my employment letter? will they sue me?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Yee

You do what you have to do. Up to them to accept or not. Let them sue if they want.

Dear KL Siew,

Thanks for your reply. So by right, I am right to pay in lieu even though they rejected?
