Re: Part timer

Recently, I have employed a part timer who work everyday in my shop as night shift for 4 hours. Wages will be paid weekly where no EPF & Socso deduction.

When she comes for the interview, she never inform that she is pregnant. Even now she never say anything about it. I knew it because I noticed her tummy become bigger and bigger.

My question is when she goes for maternity, does she entitles all the benefits that a permanant staff entitled?

Thank you.

First, read up the Part time Employees Regulations about Part-timer whether it fits your case.

Then, you double check with the local Labour Office whether she is qualified for maternity benefits under the EA. To me, she is.

Thirdly, you have to contribute to EPF and SOCSO. Get confirmation from EPF and SOCSO.
