Re: Part Timer/Contract Staff issues

Dear Siew,

I have a staff which work as part-timer/contract basis. Due to my company budget, I need cut down operation costs. In contract, we mentioned 3 months is probation period.
How is the procedure to terminated his/her services in our company?
What is proper steps to doing ? I don't want against Labout Law Act.
Please give me some guidances & help.

First, look into the contract see whether there is a clause for termination of service and what is the required notice period. If there is none, the notice period is one month. However, there is nothing to stop the staff from complaining to the Labour Office or the IR office.
