Re: What is the rights of contract staff againts transfers/relocation of site location

Hi,

I'm a contract staff working in an IT industry. It does state in my contract that I'm subjected to being "transferred" in line with business needs.

I read it somewhere, that although I'm transferable to any business locations, i've the rights to highlight to my superior that it is not a condusive working place for me.

If such grouses is not attended after 3 consecutive complaints, I'm able to take legal action?

Please advice.

It looks like yours is more a fire brigade work. You have to try to put out the fire wherever it occurs. However you still can consult a lawyer see any legal action can be taken.

Greetings Mr. KL Siew,

Noted. Based on your experience, do I stand a chance? With either Civil or Labor law?

I don't think so. Luckily, they didn't send you to Afghanistan or Somalia.
