Re: MC before public holiday

Dear Mr Siew,

How can we treat the MC without supporting before public holiday? as unpaid leave and should we pay them the public holiday as well?

many staffs take not show to work on 30th Dec and mentioned MC. in this case, any action can be taken from employer?

as i know, if they did not report their MC within 48 hours, the company reserve the right to not accept and PH will not be entitled for them. All will calculate as NPL. OR you may consult labour office for the final confirmation.

Dear Mr Siew,
one of our staff is on Medical leave from 14/01/2012 till 11/02/2012 (January=18 days & Feb=11 days) and he is entitled for 18days medical leaves. how could we deduct his entitlement? The normal MC given by Doctor for January month is 18 days which is inclusive of 3 Sundays & 2 public holidays-Chinese New Year ? are we suppose to deduct 18 days or 13days on January month?? How about the February's month Medical Leave? can we deduct from his annual leave? Please revert. Thanks
