Re: Public holiday on sunday, replacement on saturday?

This coming Christmas falls on sunday, my employer has change the replacement holiday to the day before chrismas which is saturday instead of the coming monday! The problem is... my company only work for half day on saturday... i felt unfair... is this legal in the act of labour law??

I heard before some of company work 5.5 days, work half day on Saturday but if you apply leave is a day leave. For PH falling on Saturday, there is no replacement.

So, I think may be your employer take this advantage for replacement on Saturday.

There is no choice for you. Last time I did confirm with Labour officer, due to we are monthly pay, even we work half day on saturday, but company pay a day salary to us. so when PH falling on saturday, no replacement, and if the employer want to declare the replacement in another day, is up to the employer, the labour office just concern the replacement is done irrespective of the date replace.so just accept.
