Re: termination without retrenchment benefit

i was employed by company with probabtion of 6 mth in 1st april 2010 but they never give me neither letter confirmation nor extension of probation.
i receive a termination letter from company giving me 1 mth notice with effect 1st november 2011. when i ask for the retrenchment benefit. HR said I'm still under probabtion and they are giving 1 month notice as according to T&C of letter offer.
Am I entitle to claim for retrenchment benefit although they have give me 1 mth notice with fully salary paid on last day?
Pls I really need your advice

You can read up Employment (Termination and Layoff Benefits) Regulations for details. There is another action you can take, if you are not happy with the termination. You can approach the Industrial Relations Department and try to get back your job.
