Hi.May i know if during the pregnacy, i got the medical certificate from doctor due to nearly miscarriage.Under Employer Act, the company can deduct my sick leave or is claculate unpaid leave?TQ.

If you still have sick leave then it should be treated as sick leave. If you have exhausted all your sick leave entitlement, then it should be unpaid leave.

thks ur reply.May i know in the employment act whether got mention this situation.My bos treat it as unpaid leave even though i have sick leave.He said this is women illness, cant claim sick leave.TQ.

Jane - employers like these really astound me.
If you have MC from a certified medical practitioner it counts as Sick leave (as long as you still have Sick Leave left, which you have not mention about yet.)

If you have a medical certificate by a doctor stating that " you are unfit for duty from ....to...", then you can consult the Labour Department for an official ruling.
