Re: resignation during maternity

My wife is working with the company for more than 1 year. She is now pregnant and going to deliver in few weeks time. The maternity leave is 2 months with salary. But due to some other reasons she would like to quit the job. Can she give the 1 month notice during the maternity leave? and upon completion of the leave she don't have to go back to work anymore right? In this case, will the company still have to pay her for the 2 months maternity salary? or they have the right "not" to pay her the 2nd month maternity salary?

If she gives notice of resignation to coincide with her maternity leave, her employer may not want to pay maternity allowance. She better has discussion with her employer about her intention to avoid disputes later.
