Re: Employee resign through email

Hi:

An employee sent in her resignation through an email instead of an official letter, is this acceptable? She said she is sick and having financial difficulty so she is not able to serve the one month notice or salary in lieu.

She is not responding email or calls after the resignation.

What should we do next to protect the company?

Thanks,
Erica

You can go to the Labour Office and make a claim for indemnity in lieu of notice against her.
