Im a contract employee who has yet to complete my first year of employment. Is it a labour law requirement that you must earn your leave(after 1 year of service) before you are entitled to take the annual leave?

If you are covered by the Employment Act (meaning your salary is not more than RM1500), read up Part 12 on Annual leave. If you are not covered, always try get all the terms and conditions like annual leave, sick leave etc etc clearly stated in the contract. This will avoid lots of disputes.
