Re: Recruitment Agency Agreement

Recently i was offered a contract job through a recruitment agency and was asked to confirm several questions raised by them. One of which is to confirm my onboard date on 15sep and i received their offer on 17Aug. I have a 2 months notice to serve and it only makes sense that i tender my resignation asap so to meet the 15sep date as the employer is willing to buy off 1 mth notice only. Before that the recruitment agent wrote in B&W that the 'hiring is valid' but the offer letter can only be ready later. To my understanding, this is a written agreement between me and the recruitment firm that the job is secured. 3 weeks gone by and i've done several follow ups with them but on my last week the recruitment agent told me the employer has to put my headcount on hold.
Can i file a complaint against the recruitment firm for misleading me with their dubious statement and causing me such grievance? Pls advise.

Consult a lawyer see whether you can in any way sue whosoever concerned.

That is not a case for the Labour Department to tackle. Of course, you can give it a try.
