Re: MC

Hi,

my hubby had a minor operation few days back...& was given 2 weeks+ mc...my concern is, his boss requested him to work from home on the same day he had his operation, even though he knows my hubby was given mc! I wish to know whether his boss has the right to do so?

The boss can ask but it is up to your husband to refuse. If your husband has no problem working at home, the boss should not record the period as sick leave.

Dear Sir / Madam,

TQ for the fast reply. What if the boss insists that my hubby work from home as there's nobody to cover for him during this period? Can action be taken against his boss? Or does my hubby have the right to request for any form of compensation? My hubby is still recovering from the operation but these few days his boss / colleagues were directly / indirectly hinting for him to work from home via sms...i'm really irritated by their action as my hubby needs to rest.

I think you better explain the situation to the doctor and seek his expert opinions whether your husband in view of his medical conditions, is capable or advisable for him to work at home or not. A medical report from the doctor will be most useful and no body should go against his advice. That's to say, when the doctor says your husband should rest, then his employer has no business to ask him to work.
