Dear Sir/Madam,

What is the length of the time (reasonable time) to take action if there is a misconduct happen. Example: incident happen on 1st April, later on 10th April only the staff was issue with the show cause letter. It's that can be consider as condonation because the length of time period of 10 days.

Please advise.

Just by the word "misconduct", I think it is too general without knowing the nature of the misconduct. Actually, there are a number of Industrial Court decisions on the subject of condonation and I think you can make inquiries from the local Industrial Relations Department. However, I am unable to quote you any specific court cases. Do give your feedback if you managed to get any decided Industrial Court cases on this.
