We have one new staff, he still under probation period. Is he entitled to get the paid leave during the probation period?

Pls advise.

If he/she is under EA, then he/she is entitled to AL but can't take it.
In probation period, leave taken is consider Unpaid Leave. For the AL, it will be pro rate and after finish probation, he/she can take all the prorate AL.

For example:-
Staff AL = 12
Probation period = 3 month
Join Date = 01/01/2011

So for 01/01/2011 to 31/03/2011 any leave is consider unpaid. But he/she entitled 3 days AL.
After probation period 01/04/2011 he/she can take the 3 days AL.

what i understand is a empolyee is under EA is when he/she salary is less than RM1500. what is more than RM1500? to the above question.

If your salary is above RM 1500 but manual worker then you still cover by EA.

If you are not a manual worker and salary above RM 1500 then yourself need to fight for better benefit from your employer (your offer letter).

Hi. when you are refering to manual labour are you refering to Operators in the production line? How about administrative work?

Operator consider manual work.
Admin consider non-manual work.

Easy to say, office mostly is non-manual work.
Outside is depend what field.
