Since you already tender your resignation on 18/04/2011. The company not right to hold your salary.
Try to discuss with your HR, if they insist to hold your salary, consult to labour department and lodge a report.

It is depend:-

Situation A
Normal task - Those task you finish or not finish also won't influence your salary (commission on task).
In this situation, the employer don't have the right to hold your salary IF you resign in a proper way.

Commission task - This mostly is for big project or sales people. Whereby you finish the task you have certain allowance, commission and etc.
In this situation, the employer have the right to hold the salary. Because the employer need to wait for the customer or whatever (different name in different industry) to clear a certain amount of the actual price only they can count your commission or etc. But it won't take long (within 1 month) unless it is bad debt. Bad debt normally company won't give you the commission.

Since it is just key in data, then the company don't have the right to deduct your salary.

But for "good and take" situation, you better do as much as you can and before leave pass down all your task to some junior/co-worker or your superior and sincerely apologizes for unfurnished task.

If i have been threaten that if i didn't key in finish all those contacts, I cant get my salary. Is there anything that i can do to protect myself to prevent this to happen?

Thank You.

If your employer really hold your salary mean 7 days after you resign still not yet get the salary, then you can lodge a report at labour department.

If you don't want so troublesome, then the only opinion you can do is come early work and back late just for finish up those data key in.

Don't worry much, in the end you still will get your salary.
