Re: Force to resign

My manager ask me to resign due to business downturn. I ask him to compensate me accordingly to the termination or lay-off regulation, but what he mention is that i was unable to entitle for that benefits payment because my salary is more than RM1500. Please advise...

Yup, what your manager say is truth. Since you are not cover with EA mean you are not entitled with EA benefit.


In your offer letter, should got termination notice period. It should state something like this:-

"Either party may terminate the contract of employment by giving (A period of time) written notice or pay in lieu of notice."

So if your manager immediately terminate you, then you are entitle your salary for the notice period without working.
